CBP seizes liquid meth at El Paso port of entry
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the El Paso port of entry seized 26 pounds of liquid methamphetamine Thursday night .
Isabel Munoz, 24, of Ciudad Juarez, was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement HSI agents.
“CBP officers remain vigilant to all types of smuggling threats,” said Hector Mancha, CBP El Paso Port Director. “Liquid methamphetamine is not common but the good work of well-trained CBP officers prevented this shipment from reaching its intended destination.”
The seizure was made just before 6 p.m. when a taxi with one passenger entered the Paso Del Norte international bridge.
A CBP officer at inspection booth saw several juice bottles being transported by the driver with the bottles appearing suspicious.
CBP drug sniffing dog “Drago” searched the vehicle and alerted CBP officers to a piece of luggage containing several bottles. CBP officers tested the contents of the bottles and found that nine contained liquid methamphetamine.
