Car chase in East el Paso ends in crash; 400 lbs of pot found
Two people inside a car carrying marijuana tried to evade an El Paso county deputy and instead, ended up in the hospital.
A sheriff’s spokesman confirmed a deputy was involved in a high speed chase that ended at Gateway West and Viscount shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday.
The vehicle, a Toyota Cambry, sideswiped a truck as the driver tried to escape. The impact slammed that truck into another, caused it to flip on its side.
Two people in the Cambry and the driver of the truck –an innocent bystander– were taken to the hospital.
When the deputies opened the trunk of the car, they say they found 400 lbs. of marijuana.
