Man killed in Fabens car crash identified

El Paso County Sheriff’s officials have identified the man killed in a crash in Fabens on Sunday night.

Manuel Martinez, 36, of Tornillo, died at the scene.

A 2003 H2 Hummer traveled westbound in the 17300 block of Alameda when it veered onto the eastbound lane of traffic and collided with a green 1996 Plymouth Voyager, driven by Martinez, that was traveling eastbound, according to sheriff’s officials.

A third vehicle crashed into the Voyager.

All occupants of the Hummer, three adults and three children were transported to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the third vehicle was not injured.

Sheriff’s deputies said they believe the driver of the Hummer was driving under the influence of alcohol and criminal charges are pending against the 46-year-old driver of the Hummer.
