Brad Pitt’s slight connection to El Paso in upcoming film

El Paso has received plenty of mentions in movies over the years, from “Kill Bill” to “Committed.”

Now the Sun City is getting mentioned by none other than Brad Pitt in his next film “The Counselor.”

In a picture recently released from the set, Pitt is shown holding a copy of the El Paso Times with a headline about headless bodies being found in Mexico.

According to a post on the Yahoo! news site, Pitt plays a “mysterious figure” in the drug trade named Westray.

The film is being directed by Ridley Scott in London and also stars Javier Bardem, Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz.

The film marks the screenwriting debut of former El Pasoan Cormac McCarthy who is known for his novels “The Road” and “No Country for Old Men.”

The film is being called one of the most anticipated movies of 2013.
