Pedestrian fatally hit by truck
A pick-up struck and killed a man late last night, police said.
It was just after 10 p.m. when officials said a man in his 20’s was crossing the 1000 block of Carolina Drive near Yarbrough.
Police said the man walked in front of a pick-up driven by a 77-year-old man. The driver attempted to stop, but didn’t have time, police said.
The victim died at the scene.
Police said the driver will not face any charges.
Lourdes Perez witnessed the incident. She said she ran to the victim, but he was not responding.
She then ran to the driver, whom she described as “in shock.”
Police have not released the names of the victim or driver.
