Las Cruces man allegedly steals young girl’s bicycle
Las Cruces Police arrested a man who allegedly stole a young girl’s bicycle and a tool bag Friday afternoon.
Justin G. Lozano, 25, of 2104 E. Luna St., is charged with three counts of burglary and was incarcerated at the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $15,000.
At about 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, Las Cruces Police were sent to the area of Carlyle Drive and Hoagland Road where someone saw a man, later identified as Lozano, allegedly steal a young girls bicycle and a bag of tools from a neighbor’s garage.
Lozano, still riding the girls bicycle, was found by an officer responding to the scene.
According to police detectives Lozano entered an open garage and took the girls bicycle and a couple of power tools. Police also said Lozano entered at least two vehicles, and took tools from one and a bag full of change from another.
Lozano is alleged to have dumped the tools and the bag of change in a nearby irrigation ditch prior to being found by police.
