Update: Police ID man killed in Sunday crash

Sept 17 Update: El Paso Police have identified Andrew Fike, 22, of Canutillo.

Sept 16 story: El Paso Police are investigating a collision that left one dead.

The accident occurred at the intersection of 7200 South Desert and 1000 Vinton Avenue at around 6:20 a.m.

The crash involved a Ford Focus and Chevrolet S-10 Pickup.

The Focus was traveling south on South Desert while the pickup was headed east on Vinton when the two collided, according to police.

One person was confirmed dead at the scene, but no other injuries were reported.

Police has not released the name of the victim, and are waiting to notify next-of-kin.

Special traffic officials were also investigating the scene.

At this time, no charges were filed.

It is unknown if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
