5-year-old boy found wandering alone early Tuesday morning
A 5-year-old boy found walking along a West El Paso street wandered away from his home while his mom was at work, according to police.
The Sun Metro bus driver found the boy, wearing his pajamas, wandering up Mesa Hills Drive at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say their investigation revealed that the boy walked away from the apartment he shares with his mother.
The mother was at work at the time the boy wandered away. He was alone at the apartment, according to police.
The boy, who was safe and unharmed, was turned over to his father, who lives a short distance away.
Police presented a criminal case to the District Attorney’s Office but it was declined.
Child Protective Services has been notified.
