Developing now: Police investigate a possible homicide
El Paso Police are investigating a possible homicide in El Paso’s Lower Valley.
The investigation is ongoing near the intersection of San Jose Road and Duran Drive off of North Loop Drive.
Police responded to a call of shots fired around 1:45 a.m. Friday.
Officers arrived on the scene and found one man lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound.
Officers arrested another man who was found nearby holding a gun.
Police have not yet released the identities of either man.
The gunshot victim was taken to Del Sol Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
A police spokesperson said the area will be shutdown for hours more Friday morning.
As investigators continue collecting evidence at the scene.
