Prudential bringing 300 jobs to El Paso, plans to focus on hiring veterans

Mayor Oscar Leeser announced the opening of a new facility operated by Prudential Financial that’s expected to bring 300 jobs to El Paso.

Leeser said the average pay for those positions will be about $35,000 per year and that Prudential will focus on hiring veterans.

The operation will be be more like a technology help desk than a call center.

In a statement, Gov. Rick Perry called the move a win for Texas.

Prudential provides financial services to the U.S., Asia, Europe and Latin America.

It’s not clear yet when the El Paso facility will begin operations.
