New EPISD superintendent’s contract details released

El Paso Independent School District has released the contract of new superintendent Juan Cabrera.

He signed a five-year contract and will make $285,000 a year. He could also could get a raise after a performance evaluation.

Cabrera also will have a car allowance of $1,500 a month and the district will reimburse him for any travel expenses related to district business.

His wife also will be reimbursed if she’s with him on those trips.

Cabrera is not yet certified to be a superintendent but the district is giving him three years to get the certification.
