Hazy skies expected to improve

Dust from the east created the haze that hovered over El Paso Wednesday and Thursday. According to the National Weather Service East to Northeast winds behind Wednesday’s cold front pushed considerable amounts of dust into the Borderland and reduced visibilities. Winds will shift to the southwest to west after midnight with the hazy skies expected to improve. Mid and high clouds will move across the region overnight keeping overnight temperatures mild. Tonight’s forecast in El Paso is 54 degrees partly cloudy (haze). Tonight Las Cruces forecast is partly cloudy (haze) 52 degrees. Friday’s forecast calls for partly sunny skies, with a high of 81 degrees. West southwest winds increase tomorrow afternoon, 15 to 20 mph with gust as high as 35 mph. Las Cruces forecast is mostly sunny west to southwest winds 10 to 20 mph, gust 30.
