Don’t drink and drive: Call for a $5 cab ride in Doa Ana county

In efforts to keep people from driving drunk on New Year’s eve, Doa Ana county and Las Cruces Shuttle and Taxi will implement Project H.O.M.E. (Helping Others Make it Home Every time).

Taxi service will be available countywide for those who’ve been drinking. The cost is $5 to transport one or two people, and $10 if transporting 3 or 4 people.

This is not a shuttle service to take revelers party hopping. The cabs will take people to their home.

The number for Projet H.O.M.E is 575-524-TAXI

The program will operate tonight, from 5:30 p.m. to 3 a.m.
