Man Accused of Killing Chaparral Woman Formally Charged
Prosecutors officially charged Eduardo Estrada Garcia with First Degree Murder on Monday.
He spent more than a decade on the run in Mexico after allegedly killing a Chaparral woman.
Authorities in Mexico, where Estrada Garcia was in custody for nearly a year, extradited the accused murderer to New Mexico last week.
Prosecutors say he killed Emely Howard-Ianni in 2006 and dumped her body in the desert.
Monday, a judge also raised Estrada Garcia’s bond from $500,000 to $1 million.
