Loretto Academy’s ‘Nun Run’ raises money for schools in Pakistan

Hundreds of people ran in Loretto Academy High School’s “Nun Run” on Saturday.

The annual event is sponsored by the senior class as part of their service learning project. The money raised will benefit the Sisters of Loretto in Pakistan.

“The money is just going to be sent to them. They can use it for school supplies, table, chairs, pencils. Anything that the school needs,” said Senior Class President Olivia Soledad, who helped organized the run.

Soledad said her class hopes to raise at least $5000, adding that about 200 runners took part in the race.

“It’s going really well. The runners are really excited. All the girls who volunteered are really enthusiastic, so it’s been a good race” Soledad said.
