Warmer air moves into Borderland, Temperatures rise

After the first freeze of the season Thursday and a second day of freezing to near freezing temperatures Friday morning, the afternoon looks for change.

A warm front began to push into the region Friday morning, which is expected to continue moving over the Borderland as the cold air mass shifts east. The warmer air behind the front will lead to forecast high temperatures much more typical for November.

Las Cruces is forecast to hit 63 degrees and El Paso 64 degrees. The high temperatures will lead to overnight temperatures in the mid 40s instead of low 30s Friday night into Saturday morning.

Over the weekend conditions will become windy again. Otherwise, only a slight 10% chance of rain moves into the forecast Sunday. Temperatures will remain in the 60s, and overnights in the 40s.

However, another round of cooler air moves into the region Sunday night through Tuesday. The colder air will return highs in the 50s and lows in the low to mid 30s by early next week.
