Nov. 2014 story: 1 military member monitored for Ebola at hospital after return from W. Africa; has tested negative

One of the 68 military personnel that arrived at Fort Bliss from West Africa on Tuesday is being monitored at William Beaumont Army Medical Center after being ill on the plane and showing some symptoms of Ebola.

Fort Bliss spokesman Lt. Col. Lee Peters told ABC-7 that the soldier tested negative for Ebola at the hospital but he is being kept there for monitoring.

The other 67 soldiers are being housed in an isolation facility on Fort Bliss for 21 days as part of the military’s protocol for soldiers returning from fighting Ebola in West Africa.
