Winter Weather hits the Borderland

El Paso-TX- StormTrack Weather First Alert remains in effect. Another round of snow showers will occur Thursday through Friday as the second winter storm moves across the Borderland.

As the system tracks through our viewing area snow may accumulate in the outlying lowland areas, with 2 to 5 inches of snow possible for some locations.

Here are a few things you should consider as the weather changes: Road closures will be possible along I-10 west of Deming and I-25 north of Hatch where snow may accumulate and low visibilities due to blowing snow.

It will be dangerous driving along eastern El Paso, southern Otero and Hudspeth County.

Light freezing rain and sleet along with freezing fog will continue over west Texas and southeastern New Mexico overnight.

South of I-20 a mix of freezing rain and sleet will appear as a result there will be icing of roads, bridges and overpasses be aware of the treacherous driving conditions.

Stay off of the roads tonight unless absolutely necessary. Have a safe and Happy New Year.
