Jury finds Leonard Calvillo not guilty of attempted murder in Dona Ana County home invasion

A jury found Leonard Calvillo not guilty of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit amurder.

He and three others are accused of breaking into the home of Joe Torrez on Jan. 1, 2014.

One of the other men who allegedly broke into the home was killed my Torrez, an MMA fighter.

Calvillo was found guilty of:

Aggravated Burglary (Commits Battery)
Attempt to Commit a Felony, to wit: Aggravated Battery (Deadly Weapon)
Criminal Damage to Property (Under $1000)
Abuse of a Child (Does Not Result in Death or Great Bodily Harm) (1st Offense)

A woman and a small child were inside the home with Torrez at the time.

Both the prosecution and defense rested their cases on Tuesday.
