Man wanted in West El Paso home invasion arrested in Bexar County
A 24-year-old has been arrested in Bexar County in connection with a West El Paso home invasion on July 7.
Gerald Dunn was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Bexar County on a warrant obtained by El Paso Police.
Dunn was booked into the Bexar County Detention facility as a wanted subject and is awaiting extradition proceedings to be brought to El Paso.
El Paso Police say that at 5:30 a.m. July 7, officers met with the 91-year-old man and 88-year-old woman who lived at a home on Dede Lane and said they were victims of an aggravated assault. The married couple told police they were on their morning walk close to their home when the suspect allegedly followed them to their home and entered their home.
Police say that while inside the home the suspect demanded money and assaulted the 91-year old male. The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
El Paso Police, FBI and U.S. Marshal’s Service were involved in the search for Dunn.
