Deputies investigate fire at Lower Valley John Deere dealership

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fire that broke out at a John Deere tractor dealership Thursday night in the Lower Valley.

Deputies responded to a structure fire as the John Deere South Plains Implement building about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 18770 Alameda Ave. in Tornillo.

It took fire crews from Clint, Fabens, and Horizon City close to three hours to put out the fire, which was located in back of the property.

No one was in the building and there were no injuries, but the fire caused an estimated $800,000 in damage.

The Fire Marshal believes the fire might have been electrical.
