this is all the news you need to start your sunday, august 2nd. abc-7’s “good morning el paso weekend” starts right now! good morning and thank you for joing us… i’m andrew j. polk. a rollover closed eastbound i-10 this morning at the zaragoza exit. our ’round the clock news crew was there as clean-up began. not many details are known at this time. so far we know one jeep turned over, landing rightside up and hitting the median. the driver was taken to an area hospital with have been reported at this time. the exit was closed as tow truck operators tried to move the vehicle. but it has since been reopened. an update on a murder investigation in dona ana. three 18-year-olds and one 17-year old have been arrested in the death of a las cruces teen. they are adrian hortelano, jordan gift, d’shaun hermans, and 17-year old daniel munoz. they’ve ben charged with first-degree murder, aggravated burglary, and tampering with evidence among other charges. it happened early friday morning on the 2600 block of dona ana road just outside of las cruces. sheriff’s deputies say 17-year old jaycob alba was shot and killed during an attempted home invasion. deputies say alba and the group were trying to break into a mobile home, when he was shot and killed by one of his accomplices. the group then fled the scene. the person living inside the mobile home was injured and taken to a nearby hospital. the paper reports the men were arrestede firday and are being held without bond at the dona ana county detention center. that’s according to the las cruces sun news. investigators believe the victim and the four suspects began shooting at the home, and one of the bullets struck alba. a wanted sex offender is now behind bars. el paso county sheriff’s office tells us carlton douglas fite walked away from the el paso multi-use facility on friday. he was wanted on a parole violation which includes theft, burglary and aggravated robbery. fite will also be charged with sex offenders duty to register. deputies say he lured a 14- year old into prostitution. fite was arrested on the 10-thousand block of north loop just after 6 this last night. texas attorney general ken paxton has been indicted by a grand jury on felony securities fraud charges. he’s being accused of misleading investors before he became the state’s top law enforcement officer. paxton is facing two counts of first-degree securities fraud and a lesser charge of not registering. the most serious allegation involves paxton encouraging investors in 2011 to put more than 600- thousand-dollars into a start up company- without telling them he was making commission on their investments while misrepresenting himself as an investor. conviction of a first-degree felony in texas carries a punishment of 5 years to life in prison he is expected to turn himself in to the authorities in collin county on monday. switching to stormtrack weather now!
