Franklin grad places first in Pan American Jr. Games

Recent Franklin High School graduate, Paulo Benavides, took another major step in his athletic career.

Benavides won the pole vault at the Pan American Jr. Games in Edmonton, Canada on July 31. Benavides placed first with a total jump of 17′ 8 1/2″.

He graduated this past school year from Franklin and is going to Kansas University starting in the fall of 2015.

Benavides earned his spot onthe USA team for the Pan American Junior Games after he was second at the Junior Nationals
