$1,000 Reward Offered for Info on Suspicious Package Left at Mesilla Valley Mall

Crime stoppers of Las Cruces is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the man who left a suspicious package outside the Mesilla Valley Mall Thursday.

Las Cruces police evacuated mall employees and customers while the bomb squad dismantled the device.

Police confirmed there was a note attached to the device, but it is not related to Sunday’s twin explosions outside two Las Cruces churches.

The suspect is believed to be a white male, described as tall with a medium build.

Police say he was wearing a blue shirt, blue pants and what appeared to be a fake gray or white beard.

LCPD is being assisted by the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office, New Mexico State Police, ATF and the FBI.

Anyone with information on who may be responsible for placing the package at the mall is asked to call police at (575) 526-0795.
