SISD approves tax rate
The Socorro ISD Board of Trustees this week approved the 2015-16 tax rate of $1.27 per $100 valuation. The rate includes $0.97 for maintenance and operations. That’s nearly unchanged from last year.
The district’s overall budget is rising from $396.5 million to $407 million, mostly from increased state and federal funding. That will help fund a pay increase of 1.5% for its employees.
