Man in critical condition after own semi-truck runs over him

A 56-year-old man was seriously injured after being run over by a semi-truck the morning of Oct. 2.

Police say the industrial accident occurred in the 5300 block of Doniphan after the truck had been serviced and the brakes had not been properly set by the driver, Raul Chavez.

Chavez attempted to get into the truck to stop it as it started rolling when he lost his balance and fell into the path of the truck.

That is when he was struck by the trailer and injured. He was last reported to be in critical condition at University Medical Center.
