breaking news this hour— fingerprints led officials to identify the remains of the suspected ringleader of the paris attacks, abdelhamid abaaoud, the french prosecutor’s office announced thursday in a statement. he was one of two people killed in raids wednesday in the paris suburb of saint-denis, the office said. we’ll get to the latest details on the paris attacks in just a bit. / time to enjoy two more days of seasonably warm, dry and sunny fall weather. a backdoor cold front will be approaching the area on friday night into saturday morning dropping the temperatures well below normal along with breezy conditions for saturday. however it is not bringing much moisture… therefore rain is not expected with this system. cooler temperatures should persist until sunday. a warming trend begins scene. we also do know that one person was taken to the hospital. their condition is not known at this time. / now to round the clock coverage.. two people are taken to the hospital after a stabbing in east el paso. police say a fight began at the hiney’s restaurant located on gateway east near lomaland. when our crews arrived police were investigating the parking lot and interviewing witnesses. both of the victims were taken to del sol medical center, one with serious injuries. according to emergency dispatch-one person had stab wounds to the chest. no word if police arrested any suspects. new this morning–the suspected mastermind behind friday’s terrrorist attacks iss confirmed dead the news came down just moments ago— this morning, national security remains to be a concern in the wake republicans that would increase screening for syrian and iraqi refugees before they enter the u-s. the bill would add a new requirement for fbi background checks. the white house calls the legislation unnecessary and impractical — adding that it would harm efforts to assist some of the world’s most vulnerable people. meanwhile… the white house says president obama still has plans to travel to paris for the upcoming climate talks. deputy national security adviser ben rhodes says the u.s. has great confidence in france’s government and a very close intelligence relationship with french security officials. he says the u.s. has been actively sharing intelligence with france since friday’s deadly terror attacks in paris. obama is scheduled to be in paris nov. 30 and dec. 1. / new this morning– the russian defence ministry has released new footage of airstrikes on an alleged islamic state group operated oil refinery in syria. in a second video, huge columns of tankers for the transportation of oil products can be seen being hit by airstikes, the ministry said. both strikes were said to have been carried out on wednesday. also new this morning– malaysia and the united states signed an agreement today to boost cooperation to fight terrorism. the deputy prime minister of malaysia said that under the pact, malaysia can access the u.s. database of known and suspected terrorists. he said this would help to prevent suspected terrorists from entering the country. malaysia has arrested some 150 supporters of the islamic state group since 2013. last christmas eve — a suspected drunk driver killed two brothers and one of their girlfriends. and now abc-7 is learning more about how joel garcia was able to post bond. he’s facing three counts of intoxicated manslaughter. garcia is out of jail awaiting trial for those charges after posting bond nearly two weeks ago. but the fact he’s out of jail has many in the borderland upset. local facebook users are angry at his release and are sharing his picture and warning the community to make sure he’s not out drinking and driving. garcia was serving time for a separate dwi after the crash. he fulfilled the requirements for that misdemeanor offense, granting him the ability to then post bond for the intoxicated manslaughter charges, online records show that was a surety bond for 150-thousand dollars. different factors play a role in the amount and conditions of a bond. local attorney justin underwood isn’t part of the case, but was able to offer insight into the bond process: “every single time you have a person in front of a judge, that judge gets to know background information about them. where they come from, what kind of criminal history, all the things that we mentioned and the judges under the law of texas authority, to set bond they believe are appropriate.” no date has been set for garcia’s trial. an appelate court ruling will determine if key evidence– like a blood sample police took without a warrant– will be thrown out. now to an abc-7 traffic alert — if you thought traffic in west el paso’s been bad, get ready for it to be a whole lot worse. sunday, i-ten will be completely closed in both directions from downtown to executive. westbound traffic will have to exit downtown at mesa. eastbound drivers will be forced off at executive. it’ll close sunday at five in the morning and reopen at five in the afternoon. el paso electric crews are moving those big power lines to a new spot so tex-dot crews can start work on the new expressway near paisano and alongside i-ten. now it’s
