Plane makes emergency landing in El Paso

A Southwest Airlines plane was forced to make and emergency landing after passengers started smelling smoke.

The plane took off from Houston and was headed to Orange County, California. Officials say 131 passengers were aboard the plane. The plane landed safely at El Paso International Airport early Sunday morning.

The El Paso Fire Department inspected the plane after landing.

We are still waiting to hear from airport officials as to why the plane began to smell like smoke.
