El Paso police alert fire department of house fire on East Side
Officers from the El Paso Police Department called the El Paso Fire Department after seeing a house on fire on the East Side.
It was reported just after 1 a.m. at the 3100 block of Vogue street.
According to the Fire Department, police officers saw flames and smoke coming from the back of a house.
A total of 10 fire units and 23 firefighters responded. Fire crews found flames coming from the roof of the home.
El Paso Electric and Texas gas also responded to the incident.
The fire was under control by 1:30 a.m.
According to fire crews, the house was vacant and no one was inside.
No one was injured and the damage is estimated at $20,000.
The cause is still under investigation.
The house also had working smoke alarms.
The El Paso Fire Department would like to remind the public about its free smoke alarm program.
