Juarez Diocese releases new information on pope’s visit

church. pope francis is scheduled to end his trip to mexico in juarez on february 17th. today the juarez catholic diocese held its weekly news conference with new information and confirmation of a special guest. abc-7’s jerry najera is live … rick estela juarez will be under the watchfull eyes of the world that wednesday so juarenses are making sure they receive pope francis the right way today they also announced mexican president enrique pena nieto will spend sometime with the pope before he flies back to the vatican. as with every news conference father hesiquio trevizo welcomes the media with thank yous and smiles. treviso happily announces when the pope arrives at around 10 a.m he will be received by nearly 2 thousand 500 hundred children. at a private hanger within juarez’s airport. many of those children alter boys- chilrend with special needs — and 4 youth orchestras that will play for the pontiff. possibly one of the biggest announcements tuesday afternoon mexican president enrique pena nieto along with his wife will spend some time with pope francis before his departure. the last time pena-nieto was in juarez was in january of 20-15 highlighting the the decrease in violence the city had seen he was also met with demonstrators protesting his policies. another important step the diocese has taken in organizing the event is a call center. they’ve released 6 numbers father omar guiteirrez says the center will be open from 8am to 8 pm to answer any questions in english and spanish. father enrique treviso also said they are requesting businesses like corner stores and restaurants stay open late to be able to serve the hundreds of thousands that will be looking for food and drinks. to stormtrack weather now! let’s get your first forecast from chief meteorologist doppler
