night’s deadly pedestrian involved crash. according to police a 71-year-old man was hit by a car as he was crossing i-10 between executive and schuster. police say the driver – 51-year-old christian gerstheimer – was traveling east in the second lane when he was unable to avoid the pedestrian – hitting him with his s-u-v. the pedestrian was taken to university medical center where he later died. the name of the man has not been released since they have not been able to notify his family. this is the 23rd fatality of 2016 compared to 13 at this time last year. and
