wants to place on the city plan commission. and another city rep believes there may be more to her nomination of jose landeros. that led to a tense discussion at city hall. abc-7’s ashlie rodriguez joins us live to break it all down for us. ashlie? jose landeros works for county commissioner vince perez. vince perez and claudia ordaz are engaged. but that’s not the only connection that’s had landeros and ordaz in the news before. i feel that i should, before council votes on this, that you know exactly who mr. landeros is. i believe you were going to put the picture up. rep. michiel noe is referring to this picture. jose landeros sitting in the audience during a september council meeting. it was later revealed landeros was texting rep. claudia ordaz as she spoke about a transportation issue. it was a late night the night before, we were going over the presentation.he provided a service in educating me. noe also pointed to landeros’ involvement with vince perez’s campaign. noe says the people who come before the city plan commission could be large campaign contributors — impacting landeros’ decision-making. i can’t honestly feel that as good as he is and as bright as he is, that he can be unbiased on that commission. he serves at the pleasure of a county commissioner, and i believe he will take direction from that county commissioner. although rep. lily limon disagreed — smearing people in a public setting i think that’s very inappropriate. noe was joined by reps. emma acosta and cortney niland. you just mentioned that he’s helping you with a case in the lower valley and this board is supposed to be independent. i can’t support this. mr. landeros, i trust him whole-heartedly. like i said he’s a very intelligent guy when it comes to transportation. i do things for the right reasons and this is the right reason. the appointment failed 5-2 — with only ordaz and lily limon voting in favor. ashlie, live in the abc-seven newsroom tonight. thank you. that
