Mother rescued from mountain
ortegon. a mother was rescued this afternoon after injuring herself while hiking at tom mays park. a family member told us the 25-year-old woman was hiking with a group on the aztec cave trail when she injured her ankle- while carrying her child. the injury was bad enough that she could not get back down the mountain. search and rescue crews were called on scene around noon and were able to find and help the woman on the trail within an hour. the woman was taking down in a basket until they were able to get her into an ambulance. officials tell us the operation took about two hours to get her down… the woman was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. – “if you are going to hike these mountain parks – it is important to stay on the trail to protect the terrain and to protect yourself – because if you do get injured it will be much able get you” this is the second mountain search and rescue in less than a month. the fire department urges hikers to plan before they go. know the rules and regulations and do not hike beyond your capabilities. a former new mexico democratic party consultant could
