Good Morning El Paso: ‘Rainbow Room’ helps CPS needs

thousand confirmed cases of child abuse or neglect in el paso. new this morning– we’re taking a look at one organization that has helped many of these children once they were removed from their homes. good morning el paso’s denise olivas is live … april is child abuse prevention month– and a perfect time to show you how community partners of el paso steps up to help dozens of children. one look at this colorful room and you can see why it is called the rainbow room. for the dozens of children who end up in child protective services– this room means comfort. community partners of el paso is a non profit organization made up of volunteers. it works in partnership with c- p-s to help provide some the basic needs lke hygiene items– to comforting items like blankets and stuffed animals. one volunteer tells us why they only collect brand new items: “the children have already gone through a traumatic experience some of them being removed from homes others in different situations, we want these children to have new things, we want the kids to be able to take off the tags off their new shoes, the tags off their clothing, we want them to be able open any items” i’ve posted a link on our website kvia.com. president obama joined german chancellor
