EPFD: House fire causes $150,000 in damage

El Paso fire crews battled a house fire in the early morning hours Tuesday.

The fire broke out at the 7200 block of Orizaba Avenue in West El Paso around 4 a.m.

The El Paso Fire Department tweeted that eight units and 20 personnel responded to the home, which was engulfed in flames.

Firefighters went into the home, but didn’t find anyone. No one was injured. Residents from neighboring homes gathered in the street in the early morning hours to watch crews battle the flames and extinguish hot spots.

Fire officials said that about 80 percent of the home was damaged, but that the fire is under control. At this point, the fire department has not determined a cause.

The spokesman for the fire department said the fire caused about $150,000 in damage.
