EPISD hires marketing firm to help curb falling enrollment numbers
In the past month, two of the largest school districts in El Paso rolled out new marketing plans to remain competitive.
The El Paso Independent School District hired marketing firm, Brand Era, to help attract more students and improve falling enrollment numbers.
Brand Era is expected to promote the district’s educational programs to students outside EPISD.
El Paso’s largest school district is also getting feedback through opinion surveys. Melissa Martinez, a district spokeswoman, said district employees are calling all registered voters within EPISD boundaries.
“We want to get the pulse of our community on different topics,” Martinez said.
EPISD wants to ensure the community knows about the district’s initiatives and programming.
The Socorro Independent School District is also calling parents within it’s boundaries, but it is focusing on households whose children attend a school outside SISD. District spokesman Daniel Escobar confirmed an estimated 2,400 calls have been made.
Escobar said school administrators want to know what the district can do to bring students back to their home school.
The Ysleta Independent School District said its educational programs is what attracts more students. YISD has also been an open enrollment district for nearly 20 years.
Canutillo Independent School District said it hosts open house meeting to promote its schools. Veronica Vijil, associate superintendent, said the district prefers to have face-to-face meetings with parents.
