LCPD: Teen burglarizes 6 vehicles; 3 days later, gets arrested again for same thing
Just three days after being arrested for allegedly breaking into six vehicles, a Las Cruces teen once again found himself behind bars, according to the the Las Cruces Police Department.
On Saturday, Las Cruces Police arrested D’Angelo Olivero, 19, after they say he was caught burglarizing a woman’s car at Buffalo Wild Wings.
Detectives learned that the woman parked her car at the popular restaurant located at 2750 Mall Dr., and went inside for about 15 minutes. When she came out, police said she found one man inside her car and another who appeared to be acting as a lookout.
The two suspects reportedly fled, along with another young man who is believed to be involved. Police said they found and arrested Olivero along with his accomplice, 16-year-old Dion Torres. The third suspect was not found.
On August 31, Police said Olivero and another suspected accomplice, 18-year-old Osvaldo Delgado, were arrested and charged with six counts of auto burglary, once count of larceny, and one count of tampering with evidence.
Olivero and Delgado allegedly burglarized the vehicles in the Four Hills Neighborhood of Las Cruces. Delgado is also facing one additional count of possession of a stolen vehicle.
For those burglaries, Police booked Olivero in the the Dona Ana Detention County Center for one day, and then released him on his recognizance. Following the burglary at Buffalo Wild Wings, police also booked Olivero into the Dona Ana Count Detention Center on September 4. He was released the same day on a $1,000 unsecured bond.
Dion Torres, 16, was issued a juvenile Class III citation and turned over to the custody of his parents.
