Man gets 22 years in prison for death of alleged ecstacy dealer

A jury has sentenced Ricardo Macias to 22 years in prison for the death of an alleged ecstasy dealer in May 2013.

Wednesday, a jury found Macias not guilty of Murder in the death of 22-year-old Jose Castanon.

The jury found Macias guilty on the lesser charges of Manslaughter and Aggravated Robbery. Thursday, Macias was also ordered to serve 10 years probation. Macias could be released after serving half his prison sentence.

Court documents obtained by ABC-7 state Macias, Brianna Garay, and Sonia Bautista got into an argument with Castanon over a payment for ecstacy pills.

The three allegedly beat Castanon to the ground and stomped on his head.

Bautista was convicted of Murder in 2015 and sentenced to 48 years in prison.

She broke a cookie jar over Castanon’s head after she said he threatened her with scissors.
