Authorities serve “high-risk” warrant early Thursday morning
El Paso Police assisted the Department of Public Safety with a “high-risk” warrant Thursday morning in the Lower Valley.
A viewer who called ABC-7 said she heard explosions and a helicopter in the same area at around 6 a.m. near the intersection of Yarbrough and North Carolina Drive.
El Paso Police Department spokesman Sgt. Robert Gomez confirmed the operation. Gomez said the law enforcement agencies were trying to arrest at least one person.
Gomez couldn’t reveal why they were trying to make an arrest or if someone is in custody. He also said officers could’ve been using flash bangs, a type of stun grenade used to distract whoever authorities try to arrest.
