Families turn out to Sun City Fair after harsh weather

The Sun City Fair was meant to open Friday, but strong winds and dust forced it to delay until Saturday morning.

The late start made for a slow opening, organizers said not many people have shown up, those who have seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Families are visiting the petting zoo, riding the carousel and of course, playing classic carnival games including a shooting gallery. Families we’ve spoken with say the wait was well worth it.

“It’s a beautiful day today, we’re all enjoying it, especially compared to yesterday,” Johnnie Thompson said.

If you bought tickets to the Friday opening you can still go on down, fair organizers said the Friday tickets will be honored any day, even this weekend.
