Salon owner arrested on voyeurism charges; minor among victims, police say
An investigation into alleged voyeurism at the Bahama Mama Salon led to the arrest of its co-owner, Alamogordo police said.
The investigation began the evening of May 19, 2016 at the salon located in the 500 block of North White Sands.
Investigators obtained a search warrant at the business and that allegedly led to the discovery of evidence that identified numerous victims of voyeurism.
Police arrested Cody Garcia, 28, co-owner of the salon, and charged him with 166 counts of voyeurism.
Two of the 166 counts will be charged as fourth degree felonies, police said, because the victim was under the age of 18.
Police said the ages of the victims, which includes both males and females, ranged from under the age of 18 to over the age of 70.
Garcia was arrested in the 1100 block of Ohio Avenue April 10, 2017. He was jailed with bond set at $25,00
