BREAKING: Police arrest two murder suspects in March 2017 killing
The police department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit arrested and charged two men in connection with a murder back in March.
Police say 25-year-old Kareem Hewitt was shot and killed at an apartment complex located at 9960 McCombs in Northeast El Paso shortly before 10pm on March 22, 2017.
Northeast patrol officers responded to a shots fired call and found the victim inside his apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Hewitt was transported to University Medical Center where he died, police said.
On Friday, March 28, 2017, police, SWAT, and the U.S. Marshall’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested 28-year-old James McDonald and 23-year-old Lettommy Ballard on Murder Charges.
Police officials say an investigation revealed that McDonald and Ballard worked together to killed Hewitt.
Both men were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on bonds $1-million.
