UPDATE: ABC-7 obtains mugshot of suspect in five El Paso bank robberies
Detectives arrested a man linked to five robberies, including three robberies at the same location.
34-year-old Ever Johnson allegedly robbed the Compass Bank at 1610 N. Zaragoza three times: on December 6, 2016; January 20, 2017; and April 11, 2017.
Johnson is also accused of robbing the First Saving Bank at 1701 N. Saul Kleinfeld on November 3, 2016 and the BBVA Compass Bank at 21110 N. Yarbrough April 25, 2017.
Officials say two detectives spotted a car that matched the description of a possible getaway vehicle used after the bank robbery at 2110 N. Yarbrough on April 25.
Surveillance was set up at various addresses in the Pebble Hills area and Johnson was seen leaving one of the addresses in a vehicle.
Police officers stopped Johnson and took him into custody on three warrants, two for “Theft of Service” and one for “Possession of a Controlled Substance.”
Crimes Against Persons detectives later charged Johnson for the five bank robberies. Police did not reveal what evidence they had linking Johnson to the robberies.
Johnson been booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under bonds totaling $2,262,000.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and Johnson’s mug shot will not be released at this time.
