ABC-7 TRAFFIC ALERT: I-10 near Lordsburg back open after closure
UPDATE: As of 11:25 p.m. Saturday, NMDOT says the freeway has since re-opened.
Interstate 10 near Lordsburg is closed for the second time in the past few days. The closure comes less than one week after New Mexico State police say a severe dust storm caused a 25 car pile up that killed six people.
According to the New Mexico Department of Transportation, I-10 eastbound and westbound are closed at mile marker 20 due to high winds causing low visibility. NMDOT is asking you seek an alternate route and proceed with caution.
The closure happened at around 8:30 Saturday morning.
ABC-7 will update this story once the highway is back open.
