Motorcyclist dies a week after freeway collision
The motorcyclist seriously injured in a wreck July 24th has died as a result of his injuries, El Paso Police said Wednesday.
24-year-old Jose Contreras was pronounced dead August 1, 2017.
The crash happened on Gateway Boulevard West near Larry Mahan Dr.
Police say Contreras was heading west on I-10 when he lost control of his 2015 Kawasaki Ninja as he “abruptly exited at McRae onto Gateway West.”
Contreras’ motorcycle struck several wooden posts, police said. The motorcyclist was transported to Del Sol Medical Center, where he later died.
