Remembering Larry “Moose” Stubing

Baseball in the Sun City has a storied history.

Before the El Paso Chihuahuas there were the Sun Kings and the Diablos.

Larry “Moose” Stubing was there for those glory years.

Stubing died on Friday in California at the age of 78.

In the 1960’s he played for the El Paso Sun Kings and he once managed the El Paso Diablos.

Stubing led the Diablos to a Texas League Championship in 1978.

In 1987 he was inducted into the El Paso Athletic Hall of Fame

Larry “Moose” Stubing was 79 years old.
