El Paso Police bomb squad checking suspicious package downtown

Members of the El Paso Bomb squad along with U.S. Deputy Marshals and FBI agents are checking a suspicious package near the Social Security offices located at Texas and Myrtle street.

The area has been cordoned off as federal agents and bomb technicians inspect the area and package.

The public is being asked to stay away from the area until it is cleared.
