Boil notice lifted for Horizon City
The thousands of residents in Horizon City who lost water service no longer have to boil their tap water.
The Horizon Regional Municipal Utility District said in a news release Thursday evening that the public water system has “taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water.”
Water that was provided to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality was tested, according to the news release, and results indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use.
About 8,000 customers suffered an outage after construction crews hit a water main on Darrington Road Monday afternoon.
Crews restored water by Tuesday morning, but officials had ordered customers to boil water before drinking it or using it to wash dishes and hands.
