The world’s most beautiful bank notes of 2017
The winners are in for the annual Bank Note of the Year contest put on by the International Bank Note Society.
In the number one spot for 2017, Switzerland’s abstract 10 Franc note, for the second year in a row.
According to IBNS, the Switzerland 10 Franc note is part of the first new design the Swiss National Bank has released in 20 years. On one side depicts hands conducting an orchestra and a globe. On the other, the Swiss rail system.
Among the runners-up include the Royal Bank of Scotland’s 10 pound note, depicting mathematician and astronomer Mary Somerville. Canada’s $10 note made runner-up, along with Fiji’s $7 note, Norway’s 100 Kroner depicting a Viking ship, and Djibouti’s 40 Franc note.
Mexico’s 100 peso note was nominated in the contest. That not depicts President Venustiano Carranza and Chairman of Congress, Luis Manuel Rojas.
