More recent additions to the stadium include a new video board and an updated playing surface.
According to UTEP, more than seven million fans have attended events at the Sun Bowl over the years.
UTEP will also play its annual spring game on Friday at the Sun Bowl with the game expected to begin at 7 p.m.
